Goods Return Policy

7 days exchange or refund policy

We will refund or exchange most goods if you return them within 7 days of purchase.However, the goods must still be in their original condition and packaging and you may not have used them at all. A copy of your original invoice may be required
should we not be able to trace your invoice from the product barcode.

We are committed to operate our business in terms of the Consumer Protection Act
and all policies are subject to the applicable law.

The goods we exclude from the 7 day return and exchange policy are:

  • Software, CD’s, DVD’s which are protected by copyright law. Unless there is a manufacturing defect in the goods, then you may return these goods if they are still in the original condition as sold and the packaging has not been opened yet.
  • Goods purchased by way of special arrangement or custom order will only be
    replaced if defective
  • Clients are encouraged to ensure that goods made to order or specialized
    imported goods are 100% correct when ordering, as custom made orders cannot be refunded or exchanged as these are customized to your requirements unless
    said items are found to be materially defective.
  • Goods which are sold from our Bargain Bin, damaged, defective, used or repaired, where we disclosed these facts to you before you bought the goods

What if the goods are unsuitable for the purpose I initially bought them for?

  • If you indicated a particular purpose for which you intend using the goods to a salesperson who confirmed that you will be able to use the goods for that purpose, you may return the goods within 10 working days after you purchased them if it turns out that the goods are not suitable for the purpose you anticipated
    and indicated to the salesperson
  • Subject to our rights in law to charge you for use and to get the goods fit for re-stocking, we will give you a refund

What can I do if the goods are defective?

  • If your goods turn out to be defective within the first 6 months after you received them from us, we will repair or replace them. Failure to do so we will offer a refund or credit note. As we offer a carry in warranty only, the goods must be returned at the client’s expense. Accordingly, we reserve the right to refer returned goods for technical assessment by the manufacturer or authorized service center prior to repairing, replacing or refunding and to provide you with feedback within 10 days of receipt of the returned goods and to act accordingly. If your goods show a defect after the initial 6 month period, but still within the manufacturer’s warranty period, Eurobyte will send the goods to the manufacturer for repair and the manufacturer will decide whether you have a valid claim and if so, whether they will repair or replace
  • If the goods become defective once the manufacturer’s warranty has expired, we can arrange with the manufacturer or its agents to repair them. No repairs will be done without you approving a quotation first
When will Eurobyte’s / Manufacturer’s warranty not apply?
  • Damage caused by lightning or power surges.
  • Any burn marks on the product.
  • Goods used for a purpose other than the purpose for which they were manufactured.
  • Goods used contrary to their instruction manuals.
  • Merchandise destroyed by improper operation or returned incomplete.
  • The goods have been installed, damaged or modified in any way.
  • Electrical power plugs been removed/replaced or cut off.
  • Any physical damage to the product.
  • If items or packaging have been marked or written on.
  • Any physical damage caused by water or moist.

Eurobyte Warranty Policy



Eurobyte’s warranty policy is valid to its authorized dealers and distributors only. Eurobyte reserves the right to modify or cancel the policy at any time. Neither Eurobyte nor any of its entities will be responsible for any damages caused by such modifications or cancellation. 

All products purchased through Eurobyte, are covered by the individual manufacturer’s warranty. These are standard warranties provided by Eurobyte. Eurobyte will not be held responsible for any other or extra warranty provided through other places of purchase. 

If technical support or exchange is required, the consumer must first seek assistance from the place that the product was purchased. Eurobyte does not provide support directly to the consumer unless the consumer is not able to receive any assistance or support from the place of purchase. In this case if Eurobyte is able to assist, the consumer must provide their original proof of purchase for any warranty to be carried out for repair or exchange only. In the event that the consumer would like to have an item credited, this must be done through the place that the unit was originally purchased by the consumer.

Below you will find Eurobyte Technology  standard terms and conditions with regards to warranties and products. 


  1. These conditions apply to any component, peripherals, notebooks, PCs, Servers, consumer electronics and solutions based products purchased from Eurobyte that are sent in for repair, replacement, exchange or credit
  2. Eurobyte’s warranty is a carry in warranty, unless otherwise specified, where it would be the responsibility of the person that purchased goods from Eurobyte, to have them sent in to us. 
  3. All defective goods sent in to Eurobyte will be thoroughly tested by our own in-house technicians to verify the fault on the item, if any. 
  4. Products have a 12 month warranty from date of purchase, unless otherwise specified 
  5. The warranty will be void if the serial number label is missing, damaged or tampered with. Any product containing a “Do not remove” sticker will be subject to the same conditions. 
  6. If found faulty, any component sent in will be replaced within a minimum of 48 hours owing to stock availability and reparability. 
  7. If a component is not found to be faulty according to the designated fault report, the component will be returned to the customer as is. 
  8. PC’s, Notebook and Servers will normally be fixed on the counter while you wait. If the problem takes longer than one hour to fix, the PC or Server will then need to be booked in after which time further work will be carried out.  
  9. Standard turnaround time for PC’s is 24-48 Hours. 
    Standard turnaround time for Servers is 48-72 Hours 
    The above times will depend on the severity of the problem experienced as well as parts availability. 
  10. Notebooks and other consumer electronics products will be booked in and an average turnaround time of 72 hours can be expected. This will depend on spare parts availability. 
  11. Customers are to ensure that their data on their hard disk drives is backed up prior to booking it in, whether in an assembled system or not. Eurobyte will not take any responsibility for loss of data whatsoever. 
  12. To ensure that this process is carried out efficiently, with minimal delays, please make sure of the following…

    a. The unit(s) are undamaged, as we are not liable for any physical damage other than product failure. 

    b. There must be a detailed fault report or explanation attached to the defective item(s) to explain the problem. The more detail we are provided, the speedier the turnaround time. 
  13. HP, LG, Sony, Epson and Samsung products will be sent to their relevant appointed repair centres. Eurobyte will make every effort to ensure that units are repaired as soon as possible. Spare parts availability or the lack thereof, at non-Eurobyte repair centres, will affect the turnaround time of the repair. Brand new replacements for faulty items cannot be guaranteed. We will replace some items with refurbished replacement units.
  14. Eurobyte reserves the right to provide a similar function product if the warranty merchandise is deemed EOL (End of Life) or if the component is phased out 
  15. When there is a shortage on any specific item, we will swap the item with the most similar product or pass credit at the customer’s discretion. Credit will be given based on replacement cost of the same or most similar product currently sold at Eurobyte. 
  16. If any goods are damaged or if the warranty has passed its expiration date or has been voided, customers will be liable to pay for the repair of the product. An assessment fee is applicable for all out warranty goods booked in for quotation / repairs. Should the client accept a quotation for repair, the assessment fee will be waivered. 
  17. All media, consumables and software do not carry a warranty. 
  18. Notebook batteries carry a 12 month warranty only. 
  19. Ups Batteries 12v 7ah/9ah carry a 3 month limited warranty only 
  20. Inverter Batteries 12v 100ah carry a 6 month limited warranty only 
  21. All items must first be thoroughly tested by one of our technicians 
  22. Items that can be repaired will not be swapped out. 
  23. If an Item cannot be repaired by our warranty department, or a replacement issued, then the item will be sent to the manufacturer. The manufacturer will inform Eurobyte if and when a replacement or credit is to be issued. Any replacements are subject to stock availability 
  24. Any repair time given by Eurobyte is merely an estimate and Eurobyte will not be bound by it. 
  25. Items swapped out will not carry an extended warranty, but keep the balance of the warranty from the original invoice date. 


The warranty on Eurobyte’s products lasts for 12 months from the original date of purchase. 

Customers can buy alternative products if the returned goods are out of warranty.  

Returned goods that are out of warranty will not be booked in unless a quotation for repair is requested. Quotations for repair or replacement will be provided to the customer upon request or prior to work being completed. 

 Products returned to Eurobyte as listed below will be refused: 

  • Any physical damage to the product 
  • Any burn marks on the product 
  • The goods have been installed, damaged or modified in any way 
  • Electrical power plugs been removed/replaced or cut off. 
  • Warranty seal or product barcode is altered, broken or missing 
  • Merchandise destroyed by improper operation or returned incomplete 
  • If items or packaging have been marked or written on 
  • Items struck by lightning or damage due to a power surge 

Error descriptions such as “does not work “and “failure “will yield an NPF (no problem found) result. A detailed fault description is required which greatly helps us reduce handling time and affect a high quality RMA service. 

Eurobyte has the right to destroy or recycle the product(s) to allay our storage costs without incurring any liability if customers do not respond to a request to collect completed CRO’s (customer repair orders, or job cards), or fail to make payment for replacement or quotation repaired items within 60 days from the date of request. 

Well packed repaired merchandise is the customer’s responsibility. Eurobyte has the right to refuse repairing of merchandise damaged by transportation. 

Packaging Recommendations  

Eurobyte recommends the use the following materials when returning any products:  

  • protective caps on any connectors;  
  • antistatic protective bags on all electronic modules / components;  
  • packing materials that will not damage the surface of the item;  
  • suitable packaging with strong walls and foam inserts or bubble wrap;  
  • sufficient packaging tape around the outside of the carton for increased strength.  

Eurobyte shall not be liable for (a) any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits of loss of revenue resulting from the use of Eurobyte’s services and products by the client or any third parties, or (b) any loss of data resulting from delays, non-deliveries, misdeliveries or service interruptions.  

No completed CRO’s will be released without a copy of the original documentation.


  • If a Eurobyte technician determines that the Goods are defective within the warranty period, Eurobyte Technology will have the option of replacing, repairing, or refunding the Goods. 

  • If goods are damaged due to power surges, blackouts, or lightning, they will not be covered under warranty.

  • The Client is solely responsible for the entire expenses incurred in delivering goods back to Eurobyte Technology.
